Barney Mitchell is an accomplished manager and executive with over 20 years’ experience in the photonics and engineering industries. Currently leading Solsta’s Special Projects Group, he has a strong background in solutions-led sales across commercial, technical, and strategic roles. Barney transitioned from a key leadership position at Laser Quantum to head Solsta’s design engineering group, specialising in custom sensor subsystems and integrated solutions for the life science and defence industries, and feeding Solsta’s ISO13485 certified manufacturing facilities. He holds a BSc in Physics and an APM Project Management Qualification. Barney is known for implementing innovative strategies that drive transformational growth.
